Description : Clown Bluey's History of Clowns: Cinema Clowns: At first a Chaplin-imitator, Harold Lloyd developed his own screen character with the adoption in 1917 of a straw hat, horn-rimmed glasses and conventional clothes. During the following two years Lloyd made 100 shorts, after which he became the first of the silent film clowns to produce features. This scene from the 1926 film "Why Worry?" could have come from any circus ring.
