Clown Bluey's History of Clowns: Jesters: Archy Armstrong seems to have been universally disliked, except by his masters, and it seems he incited many petty squabbles among the courtiers, while at the same time enriching himself enough to become a moneylender and landowner later in his career. On the frontispiece of the Jestbook attributed to Archy these words appear: 'Archee, by Kings and princes graced of late, Jested himself into a fair estate'. |
